We are currently searching for Casino Dealers to join our team!  This position has a six month onboard contract. Successful candidates will be considered for regular Casino Dealer assignments based on their successful performance.

The candidates should have minimum two years dealer experience conducting Blackjack, Dice, American Roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker and various other casino games and should also have proof of completion of Gaming Board and/or Commission approved dealer school or international equivalency.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Proof of completion of Gaming Board and/or Commission approved dealer school or international equivalency Conducts all Casino table games according to established guidelines and procedures. Exchanges paper currency for playing chips or tokens and announces the exchanges Ensures that wagers are placed before table gaming proceeds, such as cards are dealt, roulette wheel is spun, or dice are tossed Accurately maintains the handling of cards, dice, chips, money and other gaming equipment at an appropriate rate to maintain the proper pace of the game Informs players of the rules and regulations as the game progresses.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements:

Proof of completion of Gaming Board and/or Commission approved dealer school or international equivalency Two years dealer experience conducting Blackjack, Dice, American Roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker and various other casino games Ability to rapidly discern the numbers on dice, cards, wheels, etc. and determine the outcome of the game Ability to communicate tactfully with guests, department heads and shipboard employees to resolve problems Ability to stand for an extended period of time Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training

We are currently searching for Broadcast Technicians to join our team! This position has a six month onboard contract. Successful candidates will be considered for regular Broadcast Technician assignments based on their successful performance.

 

We are looking for experienced Broadcast Techs with a minimum of 3 years television broadcast or production experience in producing, directing, shooting and editing. 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Reads television-programming log to ascertain program to be recorded or program to be aired on RCTV closed circuit television.  Ensures all graphics reflect the current marketing strategy and Gold Anchor Standards.

 

Selects pre-approved source, such as movies, satellite or local television stations, from which program will be recorded or transmitted, and selects videotaping equipment on which program will be recorded.

 

Observes quality control monitor to verify that station is on-air.  Monitors television system to ensure all channels are operating appropriately within specifications and correct programming is being televised.

 

Maintains equipment and ensures proper function.  Cleans videotape path to remove contaminants that would affect quality of recording or playback of videotaping equipment.

 

Observes scales in video and color monitors and operates controls to adjust video and color levels.  Assures video and audio levels are within appropriate range as to not cause distortion over television system.

 

Wires audio and video patch bays (socketed equipment that allows for transfer of audio and video signals between different pieces of equipment, via cables).

 

Maintains inventory and maintenance of all video equipment in the Cruise Director Division, including broadcast room, theatre, cinema and conference room.

 

Performs related duties as required.  This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position.  Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

Qualifications

 

Hiring Requirements:

 

Minimum of 3 years television broadcast or television production experience required. Bachelors or Associates degree in broadcasting, technical field preferred. Ability to edit on both linear and non-linear production systems in multiple formats such as Beta SP, Beta SX, SVHS, MPEG, etc required. Knowledge of broadcast, video productions and technical television operation production.  This includes producing, directing, shooting and editing of feature length, short formats, commercial and documentary style programming. Knowledge of basic computer operations in the areas of live TV directing, call and switch live multiple camera programs, TV programming, scheduling and traffic. Knowledge of satellite uplink and downlink procedures, as well as signal tracking while at sea preferred. Ability to operate Macintosh and Windows computer platforms and familiar with  AVID required and a variety of Adobe products such a PhotoShop, After Affects, Illustrator, Premier preferred. All shipboard employees must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, including the participation in life-saving procedures and drills Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly All international applicants must have the ability to obtain a C1/D1 visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable

We are currently searching for Associate Hotel Directors to join our team!  The Associate Hotel Director is a senior officer and a key member of the onboard executive committee. This highly specialized and dynamic role is a true career opportunity for an individual seeking global experience in a fast-paced, diverse and energetic work environment.  The position comprises of a 4 months on / 2 months off rotation - 4 months working onboard, followed by 2 months accrued paid vacation. 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  

Leading/participating in monthly financial reviews with other Division Heads - this entails analyzing reports in advance and identifying potential issues and opportunities. Overseeing the company service standards program (Gold Anchor Standards) and organizing brand quality walk-throughs. Assisting Environmental and Safety Officers in ensuring compliance with governing regulations. Taking a lead role in crew welfare matters, including committee meetings and monitoring crew public areas for quality and cleanliness. Participating in various weekly divisional inspections; audits and reviews. Serving as a possible arbitrator on guest issues when guests request a higher authority. Participating in guest and crew gatherings and other high profile, VIP social functions. Working closely with the Hotel Director on projects and initiatives pertaining to multiple functional areas, as well as manage special projects as assigned by the Hotel Director.

Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university, or the international equivalent preferred Five or more years of progressive managerial experience in a four or five star hotel or resort; with solid  operational experience in Food and Beverage, Front Office, and/ or Housekeeping Ability to manage international staff in a positive and productive manner Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly - additional languages are highly desired. A strong working knowledge of computers and software including Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes is necessary  All shipboard employees must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, including the participation in life-saving procedures and drills. Supervising three to seven employees who each lead a team of forty to seventy crew members;  directing, coaching, supporting, and evaluating to ensure continuous and accurate bar service operation and a motivated team Training employees on aspects of service and selling techniques, cost reduction, and on-the-job training for employees as needed Consistently improving revenue generation through promotions and other relevant efforts, to increase sales in order to meet/exceed expectations Successfully identifying expense reduction opportunities through cost control, and maintaining all ship's bars, lounges, service bars and bar storage areas (as well as outer island bars and storage) while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards Maintaining shipboard outlets:  Ensuring bars are sufficiently stocked with supplies, recording production and operational data in each area, and approving and overseeing inventories, bar par levels, transfers, cocktail parties, and opening/closing bar hours and working schedules Creating a variety of reports and letters utilizing personal computer system and equipment, attending training's and meetings as needed, and other duties as assigned Through excellence in leadership, also consistently supporting Royal Caribbean International's Gold Anchor standards.

Qualifications

 

Hiring requirements:

Minimum of two to three years of progressive bar management experience in a high volume setting, as well as experience simultaneously managing at least three venues (and 30 people), with P&L and cost / inventory control responsibilities Ability to accommodate a four months on / two months off contract schedule for this onboard position Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college, university or the international equivalent is preferred Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa  (and other relevant visas) when applicable Ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training

We are currently seeking 2 nd Officers to join our team.  Potential candidates must have at least two years of experience as a watchkeeping officer in the maritime industry with a cargo/cruise line company.  More than 40,000 people have already selected Royal Caribbean International to be their employer and so should you!

 

2nd Officer is a licensed Watchkeeping Officer, and may stand his/her own watch.  Should the Master determine that the 2nd Officer is fit and competent to do so; the 2nd Officer shall occupy watches that are primarily during day and evening hours when senior bridge officers are normally accessible.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Watch

 

·         The watch keeping officer shall ensure that all safety, security and environmental regulations are obeyed and that the alarm and indicator panels are under observation always.  He or she shall ensure that safety rounds are carried out in accordance with the master's standing orders.

 

·         The watch keeping officer shall report to the Master and/or Staff Captain any significant events that occurred on his or her watch.  Important events shall be reported immediately, but he or she is to act on his initiative if necessary.

 

·         Should the watch keeping officer find it necessary to give an order to the engine room that would likely result in equipment damage as advised by the watch keeping engineer or the Chief Engineer, the responsibility rests with the watch keeping officer.  The decision of the Master should be obtained if time permits.  The Master is to be informed in any case.  The time and details shall be entered into the logbook.

 

Port

 

·         In port, the watch keeping officer shall keep radio contact with the security guards at the gangways.  He or she shall regularly check that the gangway operation is free of problems.

 

·         The watch keeping officer shall, from the bridge, supervise any shifting of moorings and be aware of any important work in progress outside normal working hours and whenever good seamanship dictates.  He or she shall be constantly alert for sudden strong winds that might affect the ship's moorings.  He or she shall notify the Master or, if the Master is ashore, the Staff Captain at once and take corrective actions as the need arises.

·         The watch keeping officer shall be familiar with and comply with the Navigation Policy and Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Master's Standing Orders, and STCW.

 

Primary Duties:

·         The officer designated for this task shall supervise the maintenance and repair of the ship's lifeboats, rescue boats, tenders and descent gear.  He or she shall ensure that the lifeboats are fully fueled, the batteries are charged, and they are properly equipped and ready to launch always. He or she shall work in close cooperation with the Engine Department on the technical topics. He or she shall also ensure that the condition of the life rings, smoke signals and lights are perfect. This Officer shall maintain the inventory and maintenance records of the above lifesaving equipment in the Maintenance system.

 

·         This watch keeping Officer shall ensure that the weekly and monthly inspections are carried out in compliance with SOLAS Chapter III Reg. 20.6 and 20.7, respectively.

 

WT

 

·         He or she shall supervise the testing of the fire screen doors on a weekly basis, ensuring that all fire screen doors are tested for function at least monthly.

 

·         He or she shall ensure that all watertight doors are operated daily and inspected at least once a week, according to SOLAS, Chapter II-1, Regulation 24.  He or she shall ensure that a record of all tests, drills, and inspections are entered in the log book with a detailed description of any defects that have been disclosed (Ref SOLAS II-1, Regulation 25).

 

Safety Training

 

Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.  This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present  information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers

 

Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred

 

 Ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training
